Hainan

Hainan

Hainan is the largest tropical island and the southernmost province of China. The golden sand beaches and clear water make this the Hawaii of China. If you are looking for a sunny beach with blue waters and golden sands, Hainan is where you can find it in China.

Hainan: Did you know?

  • Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark, located 15 km west of Haikou, contains more than 40 volcanoes of different sorts and over 30 lava tunnels, storing abundant, high-quality mineral water and thermal spring resources.
  • Hainan Island was a place where government officials were sent to exile in ancient China, but they soon realised it wasn't such a bad punishment.
  • Hainan gibbons can only be seen here and are considered the umbrella species of Hainan Island, which means their presence serves as a marker of health and stability of the ecosystem of the island.
